How to Drip Brew Plum 22g
How to Drip Brew Plum 22g:
For Plum 22g brewing, follow this modified method based on the drip recipe after roasting, with adjustments for different quantities. The key tips are:
1. Blooming Water
Use 1.5 times the weight of the coffee grounds for blooming. For 22g of coffee, use 33g of water for blooming.
2. First Pour
For every 1g of coffee, add 12g of water during the first pour.Normally, for 20g of coffee, the first pour is 100g of water. If you increase the amount of coffee to 22g, add 2g × 12g = 24g more water.
Therefore, for 22g, your first pour should be 124g of water. This becomes your reference level for the next pours.
3. Keep the Water Level Consistent
After the first pour, when the water level drops by about 1 cm, continue to add water gradually to bring it back to the reference level.
Don't let the water level drop too much. Keep adding water until you reach the desired 1:15 ratio (coffee:water).
4. Total Brewing Time
Aim to finish the brew in around 3 minutes, with a tolerance of ±15 seconds. For Plum, this will give you a bright acidity with smooth sweetness and Umeshu and plum blossom flavors. The aftertaste should be pleasant, with no bitterness.
Note: If the brew tastes too sour or bitter, it may be because the coffee is ground too coarsely or the water was allowed to dry out during the brewing process. https://www.preda-roastinghouse.com/howtobrew
